Health For Women

 Yes, I realize that I've been writing a lot lately.  I just seem to have a lot to say, haha.  My thoughts today turn to the U.S. Government's approach to women's health.  On Friday the House of Representatives voted to cut all funding to Planned Parenthood.  Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of reproductive health services to uninsured women in the United States.

Let me say that again.

Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of reproductive health services to unisured women in the United States..

Please not that I said "reproductive health services" and not "abortions."  While it's true that Planned Parenthood also provides the most abortions in the U.S, this is not the only reason they exist.  Women have access to a variety of health services.  Some of these include pap smears, mamograms, STD testing, birth control, etc.  Planned Parenthood is keeping our nation's women healthy! 

Yes, healthy so that they can have lots of babies, which is just what the GOP wants.  (I'm being sarcastic)

Okay, so you might be against abortion.  That's fine with me.  But it seems to me that women have the right to services that are going to help keep them healthy and stable.

I have a more specific challenge to close out with today.  If you have some extra cash, please  donate to Planned Parenthood.  I'm feeling pretty confident that they could use a little extra help right now.
